We’re Crazy For Candy

The Candy Tuft Shawl that is

Connie Lee Lynch, aka CrochETCetera, just released her newest crochet design, the Candy Tuft Scarf, and it was designed using my Classic Sock yarn base!

The scarf is crocheted holding two strands of yarn together to marl together a speckled colorway with a tonal colorway. The effect creates a playful pop of color that is grounded by the solid color in the background. Connie used Nutmegged held double with French 75 to create her sample. I love how her design has just the right amount of texture and visual interest without detracting from the magic the mix of colors brings to this project.

The fabric design may look complicated, but it’s really just a combination of easy single crochet, spike stitches, and marling (which is just a fancy way of saying two colors held together). Connie’s pattern incudes both written and video instructions to ensure your making process is as enjoyable as can be, making this a great project for beginners!

The Scarf was designed with the intention to highlight those wonderfully speckled skeins of yarn I know you have been keeping safe in your stash, but if you are in need of a little color inspiration, I put together a bunch of kits with this scarf in mind.

The pattern includes two sizes so whether you prefer a more standard sized scarf to keep you cozy, or a modern skinny version that is so on trend right now, this pattern has you covered.

You can check out the pattern on Ravelry or visit Connie’s blog for all of the design specs.

The shawl is designed holding two strands of fingering weight yarn together to create a seamless blend of marled color.
