Organic Merino Sport
3-ply sport weight yarn
100% Certified Organic Fine Merino Wool
328 yards / 100 grams
Our Organic Merino Sport yarn has been sourced from shepherds that have pledged to farm using sustainable and cruelty free practices. Our certified organic yarn comes from a small selection of South American herds that are allowed to graze in open pesticide free pastures, are fed a hormone and antibiotic free diet and are not subjected to external pesticide treatment. This superfine, non-superwash wool knits up beautifully with a slight ethereal halo with next to skin softness making it perfect for a wide range of projects including sweaters, shawls, hats, and more.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Hand wash gently in cool water using a wool safe detergent such as Eucalan. Lay flat to dry. It is normal for some color to bleed from hand dyed yarns when washed for the first time; cold water will help to prevent bleeding.
FROM THE STUDIO
Each skein will vary in saturation and speckling, even if they are from the same dye batch. This is what makes hand dyed yarn so unique and special. If creating a project requiring multiple skeins of the same color, always rotate your skeins every few rows for a seamless blend of color. While we take great care to accurately photograph our products, actual colors may vary from monitor to monitor.
A note about non-superwash yarn. Non superwash treated yarn such as our Organic Merino Sport yarn will not take the dye as quickly as superwash yarn. So what does this mean? Simply that when comparing the same colorways on a superwash yarn (such as our Classic Sock yarn) to a non-superwash yarn, the speckles are going to render as splashes of color much like watercolors rather than have sharp defined speckles. The results are beautiful, but different from what you may be used to if familiar with our colorways on superwash yarn. Our dyes are just as permanent and wash fast on our non-superwash yarn.
