Superwash Yarn
The term “superwash” refers to the treatment of the fiber, prior to spinning it into yarn that smooths the scales along the shaft of the wool fiber. This creates a softer fiber that is more tolerant to heat, resistant to felting, and washable making it very suitable for wearable garments such as socks and sweaters, and household items like blankets.
Superwash yarn is my favorite yarn to dye as the fiber quickly binds the dye creating sharp and vibrant speckles. I carry a large selection of superwash treated yarns that include my Single Lady, Illumination, Classic Sock, Bluefaced Leicester Sock, Glamour Girl Sparkle Sock, DK Merino, Folk Song Worsted Weight, and The Bulk of It.
