Genesee River Sunset Cruise on Ghost Town Fingering
COLORWAY
NEW - Released for the Winter 2025 ROC Love collection; a color series inspired by my home city Rochester, NY.
Genesee River Sunset Cruise is a luminous counterpart to High Falls, both capturing the essence of Rochester’s natural beauty and ever-changing landscapes. Where High Falls reflects the movement and power of cascading water with deep blues and forest greens, Genesee River Sunset Cruise embraces the city’s quieter, more reflective moments—the way the river slows and glows under the painted sky at dusk. The rich magenta and soft pink hues mirror the breathtaking sunsets that cast their brilliance over the Genesee, while steel blue speckles tie back to the river’s steady presence. Together, these colorways tell the story of Rochester’s dual nature—one of energy and motion, the other of peaceful beauty—celebrating the city’s ever-shifting yet timeless landscapes.
THE YARN
Ghost Town Fingering - A new yarn rooted in the history of the wild west
3-ply, Fingering Weight
100% SW Rambouillet / Merino Wool
457 yards / 100 grams
Spun in the US from Merino / Rambouillet wool grown and sheared in the Great Basin Region of the US.
Featuring Shaniko Wool - Double certified by the responsible wool standard and NATIVA Precious Fiber creating a fully traceable wool supply
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Hand wash gently in cool water using a wool safe detergent such as Eucalan. Lay flat to dry. It is normal for some color to bleed from hand dyed yarns when washed for the first time; cold water will help to prevent bleeding.
FROM THE STUDIO
Each skein will vary in saturation and speckling, even if they are from the same dye batch. This is what makes hand dyed yarn so unique and special. If creating a project requiring multiple skeins of the same color, always rotate your skeins every few rows for a seamless blend of color.
